| So I'm bored on my break at work, so I've pre-emptively started this thread, which will be updated after the weekend with personal highlights and tourney results. | |

| holy smokes what a tourney! we didn't have much time to pull the whole thing off but we did it and i think the result was one of the best tourneys we've had in a long time if not the very best. it'll probably be a while before vids go up, of course, so SPOILERS BELOW: - CLICK TO EXPAND DONG:
some serious Kelowna highlights in this one - firstly, Captain Clutch (Straty) once again pulling off some serious SFA in sudden death to win the doubles tourney for himself and Doubleshields, DS putting up a hell of fight against Akp by taking him to sudden death TWICE, and the crown jewel of it all: Ganon taking out every single Vancouver top player, one by one, all in a row, to win the singles tournament vs myself in SD - the first Kelowna player to win a singles tourney with Vancouver also involved!!!
Ganon's performance in FFA and doubles (both tourneys getting him 4th and 3rd, respectively) was also pretty exceptional, as were all the other medalists: the dream team of Akp/Uzz in the finals who only lost to none other than Captain Clutch, Cac's solid cleanup in FFAs, and the return of RAMBLER who made a pretty formidable team alongside Ganon in doubles (much to his own surprise, cmon Rambler, i know you're good at this game!)
shouts out also to Akp who grabbed the most medals for himself as well as the coveted BEST OVERALL medal.
anyway yeah great tourney, it should be somewhat easier for me to do the audio for all the vids so i'll try and get them up as soon as possible.

| good news bad news time: the doubles will be up by mid-Friday at the very least, but the singles will have to wait until august 16th or so to even start going up. this is probably ok though as the singles are an awesome tourney and that will just allow everyone to a) catch up on the most recent tournies and b) hop on the ever-rolling hype train.
so uh, get on it i guess | |

| That's fine there are a ton of matches in the singles (some of them are cancer though). I loved the doubles because almost every match was highly strategic in nature, with teammates talking to each other. Also, lots of OTs | |

| 2v2 is quickly becoming my favourite gametype in SFA... i've played so many damn singles and there's something so appealing about working together with someone now lol | |

| as much fun as team koji god mode was i felt like I was kind of doomed to fail since WWORQGUI is much worse at the game than anybody else in the tournament
maybe we could figure out a system where everyone plays on a team with everyone once in a round robin and the best results move on, the player with the best results gets paired with the worst that makes it into the playoff round or something?

| I like it. Try hards could exploit that with sandbagging. But I like the idea of different match-ups in the Round robin. Maybe like top 4 choose from bottom 4 sort of thing, and do a double elim from there. Also, Cac got screwed in a similar manner | |

| i forgot martinez was in the doubles, for some reason i thought he sat out
also I honestly didn't really try all that hard in the doubles, stuart and I just picked peppy and ran at the enemy without getting weapons
EDIT: I like Whaleu's casual "Good game boys" after Ryan carried him in the finals.
Ryan is actually really good now too, he beat me a couple times 1v1 before the tournament started when we were playing for fun

| Yeah, Ryan has gotten better, and we seemed to communicate decently throughout (intense while trying to calm him down most of the time) | |

tourney 0--3 was... kinda... similar to this. it was pretty messy though and there was only one winner in the tourney instead of a team winning it which was weird in retrospect to say the least. i do really like the idea of making people play with different teams though. we need to experiment with that for sure STG i'd like to point out that Pep is basically the only character for which "run at the enemy without weapons" is a potentially viable strat but yeah both you and Cac kinda got screwed on that one really though i'd go so far as to say everyone's gotten better, i don't think anyone's gotten worse at all which is surprising considering none of us play this game terribly regularly lol.

| I think I did too
If I have some free time before school i'm gonna try to get the match stats that I did before up again, and more like how characters/players do on said stages and players against other players.
ALSO WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT HIGHLIGHT VIDEO THAT WAS GONNA HAPPEN
I might exclude some players from the stats, because it skews stats in stomps (i think i 10-1'd stuart or something at an old tournament or something)

| highlights are still coming don't worry! they're just also delayed until the 15th or later. i gotta do something really epic for Honke and his gauntlet too, it's gonna take a little while Cac mentioned doing a stats count after the singles go up as well. i'll leave you guys to it, i don't particularly fancy discovering i have a negative KDR | |

| Yeah, we should attempt to re-create that. We should sit down and search the videos one long night and make a list. | |

| i was actually discussing this with Cac before i left town a couple weeks ago - we both agree there is probably enough to make a short highlights vid at the moment and what with the current prosperity of the game it's probably a good idea. we've also played a whole ten tourneys under the timed matches ruleset now and that's a good number to start on, so yeah | |
